Rethinking a familiar object
What makes an everyday object “smart”? This Q LAB experiment explores that question through a pillow fitted with sensors and a small electronic module. The familiar shape stays recognizable, while the added components introduce a new layer of interaction. The episode shows the idea taking form through assembly and demonstration.
The design is more than the circuit
A sensor-based object must make room for both its electronics and the person using it. In this prototype, the placement of the components is part of the story. It encourages the viewer to consider how a technical feature fits into a soft, everyday object, and what would need further testing before regular use.
An idea to explore
Treat this as an early prototype rather than a validated sleep or health product. The interesting question is how sensing and feedback might change our interaction with familiar objects. A demonstration can make an idea visible while leaving its practical performance open to further investigation.
